Mixed species section 2 Ilmenite, Albite, Anatase, Apatite - Tormiq Nala, Haramosh range, Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan Pakistan |  Provenant d'une découverte récente (fin 2009), voici un joli specimen figurant un groupe de petites "roses" de cristaux d'ilémnite sur matrice couverte de cristaux d'albite transparents qui, bien que petits, sont d'une rare qualité (attention, il ne s'agit pas de cleavelandite qui est plus que commune). Juste au dessus de l'agrégat d'ilménite se trouve un petit cristal d'apatite transparent et de teinte très légèrement rosée, et un autre plus violacé, à la case de l'agrégat d'ilménite. Pour finir, la face arrière de la pièce montre la matrice nue, mais constellée de plus d'une dizaine de petits cristaux d'anatase, transparents et d'une flamboyante couleur orange. Pour autant que je sache il s'agit de la première découverte d'anatase au Gilgit-Baltistan.
Coming from a late 2009 find, here is a nice specimen featuring a group of small ilmenite roses on a matrix covered with transparent albite crystals of a quite rare quality, although small (Note : this is not about ultra-common cleavelandite !). Above the ilmenite agregate is one small apatite crystal, transparent and of a light pinkish hue, and another purplish-pink one is located at the base of same cluster. Backside of the specimen show naked matrix, but doted with about a dozen of gemmy anatase crystals of a beautifull firey orange color. As far as I know this is the very first anatase occurence in Gilgit-Baltistan.
