Mixed species section 2 Ilmenite, Albite, Anatase, Apatite - Tormiq Nala, Haramosh range, Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan Pakistan |  Provenant d'une découverte récente (fin 2009), voici un joli specimen figurant deux "roses" de cristaux d'ilémnite sur matrice couverte de cristaux d'albite transparents qui, bien que petits, sont d'une rare qualité (attention, il ne s'agit pas de cleavelandite qui est plus que commune). Un petit cristal d'apatite rose & transparent, ainsi que quelques petits cristaux d'anatase, transparents et d'une superbe orange flamboyant. Pour autant que je sache il s'agit de la première découverte d'anatase au Gilgit-Baltistan.
Coming from a late 2009 find, here is a nice specimen featuring a group of small ilmenite roses on a matrix covered with transparent albite crystals of a quite rare quality, although small (Note : this is not about ultra-common cleavelandite !). A small gemmy & pink-hued apatite crystal is visible right under the main ilmenite cluster, and downward on the same axis is a gorup of tiny anatase crystal, of a beautifull firey orange color.
As far as I know this is the very first anatase occurence in Gilgit-Baltistan.
