Mixed species section 2 Ilmenite, Albite, Anatase - Tormiq Nala, Haramosh range, Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan Pakistan |  Provenant d'une découverte récente (fin 2009), voici un joli specimen figurant un agrégat hémisphérique de cristaux d'ilémnite sur matrice couverte de cristaux d'albite transparents qui, bien que petits, sont d'une rare qualité (attention, il ne s'agit pas de cleavelandite qui est plus que commune). Cerise sur le gâteau, à la base du specimen se trouve un groupe de petits cristaux d'anatase, transparents et d'une flamboyante couleur orangée. Pour autant que je sache il s'agit de la première découverte d'anatase dans le Gilgit-Baltistan.
Coming from a late 2009 find, here is a nice specimen featuring an hemispherical agragate of ilemnite platellets on a matrix covered with transparent albite crystals of a quite rare quality, although small (Note : this is not about ultra-common cleavelandite !). As a cherry on the cake, at the base of the specimen is found a group of small anatase crystals, transparent of a firey orange color. As far as I know this is the very first anatase find in Gilgit-Baltistan.
